In DA Drive Analyzer, whenever you see a drive with an Alert, you may want to back up your data or take other precautions. Alerts can be triggered by any of three warning systems. These warning systems consist of the following: AI-Based Drive Health Predictions, Faulty Drives (with NAS-Detected Errors), and Threshold-Based Alerts.
You can find Alerts, AI-Based Drive Health Predictions, and Faulty Drives (with NAS-Detected Errors) by going to DA Portal >> All Systems View:
You can find Threshold Based Alerts by going to DA Portal >> Slot View >> Threshold Based Alerts tab:
If your drive has been received an AI-Based Drive Health prediction of Moderate Risk or Severe Risk, we recommend that you back up that drive's data, or replace the drive.
Threshold-Based Alerts can be used to explore the underlying causes of drive problems. For example, a Threshold-Based Alert triggered by Number of ASR Events may mean problems with a bad SATA connection.
Fault Alerts are issued by the NAS itself (available for some NAS makes, such as QNAP), and can be used for your reference as an indicator that the NAS maker believes there may be a problem with the drive.
